September has proven to be a very busy month for us!
As well as our second ‘Meet your Neighbours’ Breakfast Networking Event last Thursday and sponsoring the Business of the Year (11-49) Award at the Wirral Business Awards on Friday, we have already completed 2 of our hardest charity challenges so far.
Sunday 13th saw a group of our toughest lads volunteer and fund-raise for Tough Mudder North West, a punishing 12 mile obstacle course designed by British Special Forces – not only running and crawling through mud but plunging into vats of ice, crawling through tear-gas tunnels, facing the fear of live electrical wires and flying through fields of fire.
This is the third time that RT has taken part in Tough Mudder and we were told that, compared to the previous years, the electrical shocks were “a bit worse” (which is macho-speak for “really hurt”). But, the team persevered and were happy enough (and certainly muddy enough) when they received their headbands and bottle of cider at the finish line after 4 hours grueling exercise!

In between this and our other adrenaline-junkie challenge, we held our second Raffle & Auction Evening at The Marsh Cat. It was an amazing night for the RT staff, family and friends – 4 course meal, fizz, fun and games! If we even get a third of what we raised last year (which was an impressive £3825!!) we’ll be chuffed. We’ll update our Just Giving Page after all the wonga is counted so keep an eye out.
And finally, the most recent challenge (and possibly our most adventurous!) was the sponsored Sky-Dive at Black Knight’s Parachute Center that a group of 10 took part in last weekend. Raising a minimum of £400 each, we fulfilled half of our £10,000 target for Alder Hey Children’s Charity within just a few weeks!
A special mention should also go to our Operations Director, Rob, who shook a bucket at his guests and raised over £100 at his birthday party on Saturday. Good job!

After reading the blog and seeing the featured photo, I received an unhappy email from my usually chilled colleague: “Anyone missing out of this pic, Tidy? …A certain G-Funk climbing down the apparatus?? It hurts. Its cut me deep, I think we need some time apart.”
So here, with my deepest apology for cropping the image and cutting him off the bottom, is an extra TM official photo just for Graham:
If this isn’t enough to repair our relationship then I will buy you a can of Rio on lunch tomorrow.
