Only 10 more days to go, and whilst it’s an excitable time for those young and old, I feel that most of us forget the true meaning of the holiday.
So, because I haven’t done it since July, here are some lovely quotes to make you think about what this Christmas really ought to be about:
Maybe Christmas, the Grinch thought, doesn’t come from a store. What if Christmas, perhaps, means a little bit more. ~ Dr Seuss
Christmas is, of course, the time to be home – in heart as well as body. ~ Garry Moore
It is a fine seasoning for joy to think of those we love. ~ Moliere
Gifts of time and love are surely the basic ingredients of a truly merry Christmas. ~ Peg Bracken
It is Christmas in the heart that puts Christmas in the air. ~ W.T. Ellis
Christmas is not as much about opening our presents as opening our hearts. ~ Janice Maeditere
I will honour Christmas in my heart, and try to keep it all the year. ~ Charles Dickens
Love the giver more than the gift. ~ Brigham Young
Christmas is doing a little something extra for someone. ~ Charles Schulz
My idea of Christmas, whether old-fashioned or modern, is very simple: loving others. Come to think of it, why do we have to wait for Christmas to do that? ~ Bob Hope
