National Apprenticeship Week is nearly here again! The 11th National Apprenticeship Week will run from Monday 5th March until Friday 9th March.
During the week employers and apprentices will come together to celebrate the success of apprenticeships whilst encouraging many others to choose an apprenticeship as a pathway in their chosen career.
Throughout NAW (National Apprenticeship Week) a series of national and local events will take place. Last year there were over 500 to choose from. This year’s event is going to be even bigger as apprenticeships continue to be a popular choice for young people.
The theme of this year’s event is “Apprenticeships Work” #WorksForMe
- Individuals – works for me
- Employers – works for me
- Community – works for my community
- Economy – works for the wider community
The objectives of National Apprenticeship Week is to increase awareness of apprenticeships by:
- Celebrating the benefits apprenticeships bring to employers and the impact apprentices have made over time
- Showing that they are available for all
- Recognising apprenticeships as a ladder of opportunity to a brighter future
Apprenticeships are now considered equal to university, with many successful careers coming from those who started out as an apprentice. There are all kinds of apprenticeships out there ranging from higher to degree level apprenticeships.
